A member asked:

I'm bipolar and my girlfriend is not, what are the chances my child will be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Children who have one parent with the disorder have a 15% to 30% chance of developing the disorder themselves; children with two parents with the disorder have a 50% to 75% chance. If a non-identical twin sibling has the disorder, the chance that another sibling will have it is 15%-25%.
