Depends...: Personal hygiene practices are usually the most effective way of avoiding urinary infections. If you're having them frequently another way you can consider is by visiting your physician and being placed on prophylactic antibiotics. However, taking prophylactic antibiotics can put you at risk for developing resistant organisms.
