Yes--risks are high: Although a mini-stroke (tia or transient ischemic attack) does not leave the person with any deficit, he/she is at risk of future strokes, and there is some evidence to suggest that the risk is highest immediately after a tia. Patients need to get evaluated after a TIA to check risk factors and get possible treatment.
