Fit matters: For a condom to be effective it should be tight during all stages of intercourse and applied before any sexual contact. If it inverted, it was likely bigger than you need or you were going soft .This may allow secretions/sperm to escape. You may need to shop around and find a condom that stays on better or begin to withdraw as soon as you feel yourself begin to soften.
