A member asked:

When a woman is ovulating and on birth control pills can she still get pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Birth control pills work by STOPPING ovulation, and if you are faithful about taking them daily, they are 99% effective! I do believe that 7 days off the pill is too long for some women and only advise 4 days off, and then start a new package of pills. Many of the newer pills only have 3 or 4 days off to reduce the risk of inadvertent ovulation. Take a test if in doubt.
