Birth control: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Yes, but......: If you have other symptoms like pain, cramping, bloating but no period, then get a check up soon. However,if you feel fine & there's no chance of pregnancy, it's OK to wait a few weeks. If you still don't get your period, your doctor can prescribe a short course of progesterone which, once stopped, will bring on your period a couple of days later. But there's no need to hurry or worry now.
