A member asked:

Left sided sharp chest pain all day deep breathing doesn't seem to affect it. not constant but fairly constant what could be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Constant pain: The only cause of constant, or nearly constant pain is rheumatologic or neuritic: joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, bursae, fasciae ,or nerves. Your observation indicates it does not involve your accessory muscles of respiration but it could be referred from your shoulder or be due to a pinched nerve from your cervical (neck) spine. Trial of an NSAID is in order. No relief suggests nerve.
