Ineffective: Taking one tablet of Lo Loestrin, or any other birth control pill for that matter, will have no effect on your period. You have to take the pill on a continuing basis to be able to use it to manipulate your cycles. That is independent of the Skyla, although you may notice lighter periods on it.
