Briefly: The most important things to avoid are alcohol, unpasteurized cheeses/dairy, and raw fish. Essentially any raw foods are also to be avoided. The risk of placental infection (Listeria) is why some of these are to be avoided.

Pregnancy tips: Things to avoid: alcohol, uncooked or undercooked meat, eggs, and seafood, exposure to cats Be careful with caffeine, because the fetus is very sensitive to it. No more than 200 mg per day (about 12 oz of coffee) Things to eat: Plenty of fruits and vegetables, prenatal vitamins
