Ovulation: pain at the time of ovulation can be normal (mittelschmerz) or can be a sign of an underlying disease process. One possible cause could be endometriosis that is involving the bowel which could cause cyclic rectal pain, cramping and a sore abdomen. I would suggest seeing your doctor for a full evlaution to make sure there is no underlying problem.
