Consider a biopsy: Although most causes are totally benign, if there is abnormal bleeding and an examination shows something that is not completely normal the right answer is to biopsy it. Looking at it is just guesswork. A possible exception might be trauma from intercourse or tampon or something like that, which means it should go away with another examination in a month or so. Otherwise, ask for biopsy.
