Consider ER: That sounds like a tough situation, you may need an EKG and blood work to rule out heart attack and maybe even a CT angio to rule out pulmonary thromboembolism although I am hoping that it is something more benign, you may need to see a psychiatrist if symptoms persist despite being evaluated by a doctor that can rule out a cardiovascular process! Stay safe!

Rare side effect: of Zoloft (sertraline) includes chest pain and/or palpitations. Anxiety or panic attack can also cause such symptoms. Notably, the time to onset of perceived benefit can be months. Finally, it can be unsafe to suddenly stop taking Zoloft (sertraline). For all of these reasons, please call and discuss with the prescribing physician asap.
