Try different liquid: It is a bad idea to swallow pills without swallowing some liquid. The reason is because a pill can get stuck in the esophagus, somewhere between the throat and the stomach, if there is not enough liquid to wash it all the way down into the stomach. When certain types of pills get stuck, they can cause a serious chemical burn into the esophagus by being stuck there.

Yes: Water makes medication go down easier but if you can do this without extra water, that is OK. Your moutn constantly bathes itself in saliva which you swallow anyway so the tablet will reach your stomach and do its thing.
