Can you catch cryptosporidium from a infected person.

Yes: This is a parasitic infection which is transmitted via a fecal-oral route, especially through contaminated waters. It is not a serious problem for healthy immunocompetent individuals but can be deadly for HIV-AIDS patients

Not directly: The parasite is shed in feces. It can be picked up from water, food, soil or surfaces. If those parasites are ingested, then infection pursues. Cryptosporidium dx: via acid-staining test of stool or biopsied intestinal tissue & enzyme immunoassays for antigens.
