What causes ramsey hunt syndrome?

Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a result of Herpes zoster infection (shingles) involving geniculate ganglion. Affected patient develops facial paresis, hyperacusis, loss of taste (unilateral), decrease in tear formation and salivation.
