A member asked:

What happens if coccobacilli infections are not treated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bacterial shapes: Coccobacillary or coccobacilli just describes the 'shape' of the bacteria - what a doctor really needs to know is what species of germ is it, and what antibiotics will work against it. This is determined by capturing the germ and growing it in the lab, then we can find out it's strengths and weaknesses. There are Gram positive and Gram negative coccobacilli- so hopefully you could get more info.
