Not too soon: 3 days late on period is definitely not too soon, although sometimes if ovulation was delayed the period may come later than expected. Test again in a few days if your period doesn't start, good wishes.

No: Getting a blood test would not be too early. If you do a home pregnancy test, use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully. If the result is negative, repeat the test in 3-4 days, unless you get your period by then.
