Diabetes?: Optimized sugar control with diet and medication can improve diabetes related kidney disease. ACEI are also proven to improve kidney function, but a full work up needs to be done, preferably by a nephrologist. She is not "normal", but can stay healthier if appropriate care is provided sooner than later.
