Estradiol Valerate: Presently, there are no BI contraceptive pills available in the US. Bayer Schering has developed and submitted QLAIRA® (estradiol valerate/dienogest) to the FDA as a "natural" contraceptive and the first in a "New Class" of OCPs. It is patent pending. Qlaira® delivers 17β-estradiol (E2) plus dienogest (DNG) in a 26/2 regimen. It is available in the UK, is well-tolerated + with good reviews.
