Lymph node: Most of the time it is an inflammed lymph node - sometimes from a scratch on your leg, or from a cat. It is very rare for this lymph node to represent something like a lymphoma - a type of treateable cancer. As a precaution, you should see a doctor to check it given how long it has been around. Remember that this is still much more likely to be an irritated lymph node. Hernias tend to cause pain.
