Sorry to say...: This is a normal and expected side effect of DMPA injection, you should have been made aware of it by the prescribing provider. It often continues for 6-9 months before stopping. The bleeding is not heavy (don't get anemic) but can be annoying. You can wait for shot to wear off and don't get it again, then speak with a doctor about whether to continue. Good wishes.
