Varies: You can try it, but you need to understand that if you have an ACL deficient knee and play sports, there is a fairly high risk you can damage other parts if your knee such as a meniscus. Con general, patients who are low demand and don't play sports do better with an ACL deficient knee than those that want to stay active. The braces don't do a lot to change that in my opinion.

You can try.: Assuming that you don't have any associated meniscal tears, you could try to play in a brace, although many people will still have knee instability, despite the brace.
