Tinnitus: Crackling or static like sounds provoked by noise can have many causes. If ears are damaged by loud noise or disease this can lead to dysfunction of the bones and muscles of the middle ear leading to abnormal vibrations. Damage or rupture of the eardrum can also result in similar symptoms. You should see an ear specialist and having a complete check up and hearing test.
