Spotting many causes: Spotting (irregular bleeding) during and after depo (depoProvera) is common. However spotting has many other causes, including sexually transmitted infections (including but no limited to chlamydia and trich.)

It is expected: You are having Withdrawal bleeding. Depoprovera 's effect usually lasts for 3 months so now you will be having regular monthly period. As your ovarian function were suppressed it may take some time to have regular monthly period and you may notice spotting or irregular period initially as you already are.

See below: Depo-provera stays in your body for at least 3 months after you take your last injection. It's not unusual to have menstrual irregularities after stopping it . The menstrual irregularities my persist for up to 18 months in some patients
