Blighted ovum: You may have had what is referred to as a blighted ovum, which occurs when an egg is fertilized, but an embryo does not develop. Blighted ovum is usually related to a high level of chromosome abnormalities. Prior to development of early pregnancy tests, women often did not know they were pregnant when this occurred. Implantation is also possibility. Repeat pregnancy test now & in one week.
