Preventing UTI's: Several things will help reduce the frequency of UTI's (urinary tract infections) 1) plenty of fluids and make sure that you empty your bladder while voiding 2) avoid wiping back to front 3) as soon as possible after intercourse voiding 4 avoid over using vaginal douches That should help

More tips: Besides the things already mentioned, daily cranberry juice has been shown to be helpful. Sometimes constipation can interfere with bladder emptying and thus increase UTIs. For postmenopausal women vaginal estrogen cream might help reduce UTIs. If all of these have been done already, then a nightly low dose antibiotic like nitrofurantoin can be helpful.
