A member asked:

I was supposed to get my period on the 14th. it is always on time. it is now the 22nd, no period. i took a pregnancy test and got neg. is it wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not wrong: In a woman with regular periods, some causes of a late period (other than preg.) include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (like birth control pills), hormonal imbalances, etc… Seeing a doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring or worrisome. One can also repeat a pregnancy test a few days later.
