Yes: Acute renal failure can lead to increased volume ( salt& water) in the body . This can cause respiratory failure due to pulmonary edema( lungs become soggy, difficult to expand) . Treatment involves close observation, fluid management and in some cases dialysis. Sometimes kidney and lung can become involved by a disease process of blood vessels ( blood in the urine&sputum)- goodpasture' syndrom.
