Residual bleeding: This will probably clear up in a day or two. If it continues, see your ob/gyn doctor.

Two causes: There are two possible causes,- #1 Vigorous intercourse with injury to the vagina or cervix. # 2 A cervical or endometrial polyp or pedunculated fibroid that is bleeding post intercourse. Go see a GYN MD and rule those possibilities in or out.

Normal variation. : Sometimes the period can be a different color or consistency. It is common to have some variation at times. So to have a small amount of dark blood is ok.

Prolonged period: Three weeks is a long time for "country cousins" to visit.(period). Go visit a OB gyn md so that the "cousins" don't overstay their welcome.
