Term paper question?: Until a couple of centuries ago, people thought that evil humors in the head caused headaches & trepanation (drilling holes in the sufferer's head) was the cure. Moral: "Ancient wisdom" is a false concept. NEVER trust "ancient wisdom" or practices. They're bogus. Check out the website of the American Headache Society for more information on headaches than you ever thought existed.
