Hormonal reset.: The Depo-Provera shot shuts down the reproductive cycle that is regulated by the pituitary gland. 3 months after your last shot, the pituitary gland will resume regulating your cycles, but it takes a while to start functioning normally. Spotting is quite common during this time. If your cycle is still "messed up" after another month or so, follow up with your Gyno. Meanwhile, no worries.
