Asthma meds: During a cold your asthma may worsen. An asthma action plan should be written by your doctor. The forms are available on line. The albuterol is used to treat cough, wheezing, shortness of breath. A controller medication is used to prevent and control worsening your asthma. Cold preparations do not treat asthma, and generally should be used sparingly. Nasal saline can relieve your congestion.
