Label specifics: A dermatitis by definition occurs on the dermis, the tissue coverings of most of the outside body surface. The vagina is a different tissue, and most "dermatitis" is specific to the type of tissue. Vaginal tissue can be infected by some of the same germs that infect the dermis, but inflammation of the vagina is a vaginitis,
