Have hypermobile joints. if hips are loose would exercise to strenghen hips certainly prevent dislocation? have not had any dislocations.

Varies: To some extent, strengthening the muscles around can provide some improvement in instability. A person with recurrent shoulder instability responding to physical therapy is a classic example of that. There is a component that is not really responsive to exercises which is why we sometimes have to do surgery for instability.
