A member asked:

What can cause a false negative home preg test (clear blue digital) at 7 weeks since last period? is it common? bout 40 days since sex

A doctor has provided 1 answer

False positive preg: The main way one can get a false positive pregnancy test is very dilute urine. If you use your first morning urine specimen to test for pregnancy, it should be accurate after 7 days post intercourse. If it is 40 days since intercourse, you may have just skipped a period and are not pregnant. You can confirm this with a blood pregnancy test to be sure.
