A member asked:

Are hyperplastic polys and chrons related? is it possible to have both in different areas (stomach/intestines)? how know for sure and what should i do

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endoscopy: Hyperplastic polyps are benign growths that can be found anywhere in the GI tract and are not necessarily related or associated with Crohn's disease . However, Crohn's dis and ulcerative colitis are often associated with "pseudopolyps" (false polyps: overgrown healthw part of intestinal lining next to an ulcerated part). Endoscopic exam can idetify both.
