Ovulation: This can be due to the hormonal changes at the time of ovulation. This is the most likely explanation. It could also be due to an infection or abnormal cells on the cervix. If your pap is up to date and was negative, the later is unlikely and, if it resolves and you have no other symptoms, it is unlikely to be due to an infection. Hope this helps.
