Serous otitis: There is probably still inflammation present in your and eustachian tube causing blockage of fluid within the middle ear. This is a common complication after treatment of ear infection. This inflammation can often be treated well with a steroid nasal spray such as Flonase. Guafenesin can also be very helpful by thinning secretions. These meds may also be helpful with your chronic problems.
