This can happen : When injections are given the nurse cannot see the veins under the skin. Occasionally one is hit and bleeds, but only so much and stops, and the blood goes away in about a week as it is absorbed.

Yes: Especially if you are taking aspirin, Motrin or any other type of blood thinner like Coumadin (warfarin) or plavix. It will turn green then yellow and then just fade away.
