Yes, but: The recommended route for a patient with active genital herpes is a cesarean. However, a patient with a history of herpes, but no recent prodrome and no active lesions can still be allowed to labor and deliver vaginally.

Yes: Genital herpes does not keep u from having a normal baby. You may be prescribed medicine such as valacyclovir in the 3rd trimester to suppress out breaks and have a c-section if you have an outbreak at the time of delivery to protect the baby but you can definitely have a healthy child. The antibodies u have developed protect the baby up until delivery. The risk is at delivery and can be prevented

Second, it is possibly to have a baby who is infected with the herpes virus in an untreated infected mother.
