Baker's Cyst: Oftentimes you can have an outpouching of the synovial membrane that lines the joint.

A number of things: Could be a baker's cyst (as dr. Fisher said), torn cartilage, bursitis, arthritis, popliteal vein entrapment, etc. Impossible to say online without an examination. As a start, see your doctor.
