Low Dose: Low dose pills tend to have less side effects while achieving the same goals of pregnancy protection and cycle regularity as compared to higher dose pills that can have more side effects.

Any: Any of the currently available oral contraceptives are safe and effective. Many of the very low dose pills do have a greater risk of pregnancy and of breakthrough bleeding and spotting. A pill with the average dose of estrogen would be the best choice.
