Inflammation: Hello Jenn, I guess you wonder why when mucous is coming out of the nose and chlorine is going up the nose how could these things feel the same. Well, the lining of the nose is very sensitive and when you blow your nose forcefully and when chlorine water goes up your nose the lining tissue gets irritated and sometimes inflamed. This is a sign to stop or the inflammation will get worse.
