A member asked:

Can having to much acid in the stomach cause your stomach to growl?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to tell: Stomachs can "growl" regardless of the amount of acid in the stomach. If there are new symptoms such as reflux of stomach contents up the esophagus, stomach pains, too much "growling", getting abdominal bloating, changes in stool (too constipated or too loose), one's primary care doctor can evaluate to be sure there is not a medical problem going on.
