Sex and dysuria: To prevent a urinary tract infection (UTI) after intercourse, try to go to the bathroom and urinate as soon as possible after having sex. Women get more uti's than men due to their having a shorter urethra making a UTI easier to acquire. Urinating after sex has the urine flush away any bacteria and will prevent them from getting to your bladder, avoiding a UTI. Good luck.
