Why do i bleed after sex?

Hard one?: Was it a hard one? Did you lubricate enough? Was there a lot of friction? Could you have started your period? Do you have a lesion in your vagina? If you feel there is no reason described above, you will probably need to have a physician look in your vagina to determine the cause.

Not normal: If there is no obvious tearing around the labia or perineum then vaginal bleeding after sex is not normal. You need to see a GYN for exam.

See your gyn: Either from vaginal, cervix or uterus problem or infection, you need an exam, vaginal cultures blood work and an ultrasound and your gyn should be able to determine the cause and txment.

Possibilities: Lack of foreplay can lead to inadequate vaginal secretions to provide lubrication during intercourse. A post menopausal woman often has fewer secretions and thinner (atrophied) vaginal mucosa.

May be normal: Depends on how much blood. Make sure you have enough lubrication, try using the jelly lubricant. Also may be worth getting checked by a doctor to make sure you don't have inflammation that could make the vaginal membrane fragile and easy to bruise. Pain, discharge, bad odor may be signs of trouble which need treatment.

Multiple factors-GYN: exam is necessary to rule out a cut, tear, abrasion, or inadequate lubrication. Try spending 15-20 minutes on foreplay until you are secreting sexual mucous ( protective) try different positions and avoid any deep thrusting or rough sex. Call for a GYN exam today.
