Needs evaluation: Usually tonsillitis and ear infections "feel better" within 2-3 days and viruses typically don't last more than 10 days. You should return to the doctors office.

Other cause: It could be your throat symptoms were caused by a bacteria that was not sensitive to the antibiotic you took, that the infection was realy caused by a virus, and that your throat irritation is not infectious at all and due to something like allergies. If your glands were really swollen and really sore throat, at your age i would consider mono and i would ask your doc about that possibility.
