Allergies?: Sounds more allergic than infection. Did you eat any exotic fruits (mango, papaya, etc.)? Call your doctor and discuss. Perhaps an antihistamine, if it took down the swelling in an hour or two, would point to the cause. Figuring out what is causing an allergic reaction is not always easy; lots of guesswork.
