What part(s) of the brain is/are involved with respiration? would it be the hypothalamus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Although the anatomy of respiration is complex and does involve peripherally the phrenic nerve to allow inhalation and expiration of the lungs, the main control area is at the base of the brain, the fourth ventricular region of the brainstem.
