Unlikely: Although perhaps the alcohol has promoted a co-morbidity or repetitive falling has caused trauma to the brain. Typically, aphasia of this sort is secondary to a localized stroke over the dominant hemisphere of the brain.

Not usually: Alcohol addiction and withdrawal can lead to wernicke's aphasia which is usually characterized by lack of comprehension and fabulations.
